New Stuff

October 28th is now a very important date to add to our family diaries.  On this day little Verity entered our lives in person.

What can I say?  Everything and absolutely nothing.  No words can sum up this occasion.

It was not an easy ride and for a while a very scary one for baby and mum.  However, we are on the mend and we are all getting used to new stuff.

On my needles?  Possibly a few baby knits(??!!!) and just maybe a few more in the pipeline??  Knitting for a small person is such a wonderful activity.  Anticipation in every stitch.  Choosing colours now we have met her, choosing patterns, yarns and needles.  everything done in small!

I have also been knitting like mad for my upcoming Christmas craft show.  I want to take my knitted pouches and cardigans alongside the yarn.  Where energy is a limited resource these days I have to learn discipline,(often lost in translation to life), to be realistic about what can actually be achieved in a day, rather than what I desire to be achieved in a day.  Between the 2 is a rather large gap.

I look forward to handknitting in the evenings.  Peaceful, repetitive, soothing.  It is my comfort habit.

Autumn this year has been spectacular.  All the fire colours lining the fields.  Glorious.  Exciting.  Inspiring.

Puddles of Puppies

Hi!  Sorry to bore you with these but I could not resist now that the pups are one week old and huge!!

We are so proud and pleased with this litter!  As usual we make the best boys, and they really do stand out.  But the girls are also gorgeous and my resolve to look and love but not get involved is weakening.

However by the time they have eaten me out of house and home and wrecked the garden I may feel differently?

May is glorious as ever and there is just so much going on around the place!  A Jenny Wren who moved into the puppy house before it was thus occupied has raised and fledged her family, moving on – wise idea!

Wobbling and Peeping

Two weeks yesterday!  And they are simply ENORMOUS now!!  They are on the move.  Not quite fluently yet but definitely on the move.

The thing about having 8 siblings is that there is always someone to crawl over and help gain balance, well, of sorts!

There is much opinion sharing and general complaining etc…

They are adorable, still!!!  Give me a couple more weeks!!

They look like little dogs now.

First things first!  Just look at what arrived this morning after a very long night…..

SO proud and pleased

At the beginning of the week I spent a long long day (until midnight) dying some roving.  I am pleased with the results.

So please in fact that I want to spin it all!!  So allowed myself 2 lots of BFL.

When my new bobbins arrive I will ply them and show you the results.

This all makes the year so far not so bad.  To date the barn is broken as is the dog (not the mum), the microwave, the washing machine, the spin dryer, the tumble dryer and the car (impressively all by Feb 4th).  We are flooded YET AGAIN and the roof leaks.  But now we have 9 perfect puppies and all seems well!
