Nine Reasons to Smile

Ok folks, here are nine reasons to smile!

Tweed pups DOB17.5.17 027

Born 17.5.17.  5 boys and 4 girls.  Mummy is SO SO proud!

This is Tweed’s (mum) second litter.  She has remembered how to be the very best mum.

Leading up to this I confess resorting to my nervous habit of hat knitting.

As a variation I have decided to try socks instead, we shall see how that goes.

Till next time!!

Waking Up

Everything is waking up!  On our walk this morning we found various degrees in stages of waking up.

We found things to examine and smell

We saw new flowers opening to the day ahead

The sky was jam packed with so many songs it was quite hard to think.  So some of us had to retreat for dad and daughter time in the favoured reflecting spot to contemplate things in general and today in particular.

I have a bit of an obsession at the moment with Ivy.  The ideas which are forming are turning into a knitwear design, slowly.  I just love the way Ivy travels up and around its host.  Mostly it is not really noticed unless you look.  I like that.

I like the way a dandelion clock with dew still holds its form, just not fluffy.

I think it is probably not cool to like Rape in a field.  I am not entirely sure why.  It is quite overpowering.  The smell is intense, however I prefer it to the muck spreading which has filled the air around the cottage for this past week.

Waking up is amazing!!

On Potting Puppies

Yesterday was gorgeous.  The puppies are depleted in number and there are now 6 still here, but it looks like they are all spoken for now.  This makes me sad as I have come to know these little personalities and they are all gorgeous little people.  But also, I am happy as they are all due to go to lovely homes where they will all be loved, which is what I want most for them.  Collectively they are very different to how they will be individually, and their characters and confidence here grow every day.  They are learning all the time and all experimenting together.  They play with their big sister who is their best friend!  I think she will miss them.

She lets them win

She finds the same things interesting

Some puppies have been busy potting other puppies

It takes a lot of sorting out to get this potting business just right

I am sure I fitted in this yesterday?

Endless funny incidents and then that gorgeous deep floppy sleep!

The sun has been out and spring has crept in between the showers and everything feels more bouyant!

I finished the yarn I spun

Blocked a sample

Wonderful Wonderwool

We had a fab weekend! I am still hanging, but gathering strength slowly. The weather was perfect, a little cold but sunny with showers. 100% improvement on last year!! We met lots of lovely people who believe in our product and what we are trying to do. We met lots of lovely people willing to try our new spin and give feedback. Plus we met lots of our lovely trader friends who we always look forward to meeting at the shows. A huge vote of thanks to all.

In the meantime the pups have grown SO much! They are in to absolutely everything absolutely all of the time! They are so much fun and I am going to miss them dreadfully. Everyday I have to discipline myself regarding keeping more than one. The one we are keeping for sure is this little girl (darkest Brindle, bottom pup in photo on right). Her name is Tweed.

Also the hedgerows did not wait for me and my camera. There are Bluebells and Pink Campions and Stitchwort out alongside the Primroses and Violets and Cowslips. The Cowparsley is also almost there. All stunning adornment for the tracks.

When I have organized the yarns I will show some here, but I am just sorting out the paperwork and organizing another spin and so on. And, of course, trying to regain some energy.
