Changing Scale

Well here we are at 6 weeks!  Unrecognizable chaos reigns.  I am being held responsible for changing the scale of just about everything.  Gaps have shrunk, heights lowered (a positive improvement), and the empty flower pots (well they are empty now) get stuck!  Swinging between hilarity and despair with no middle ground this week.  Pups from 5-8 weeks are pure hard work.  Also, thankfully, they are very funny.

We have 3 pups left looking for homes now.  More people looking this weekend.  Lets hope the little hooligans will not intimidate them.  As a collection they are formidable these days, haring round at high speed and then forgiven as they crash out in littered piles just where they drop.

Just a note to add…..Life in the form that we know it has been suspended until further notice………….One day normal stuff will return and relative peace descend once more.  It will won’t it??

On Potting Puppies

Yesterday was gorgeous.  The puppies are depleted in number and there are now 6 still here, but it looks like they are all spoken for now.  This makes me sad as I have come to know these little personalities and they are all gorgeous little people.  But also, I am happy as they are all due to go to lovely homes where they will all be loved, which is what I want most for them.  Collectively they are very different to how they will be individually, and their characters and confidence here grow every day.  They are learning all the time and all experimenting together.  They play with their big sister who is their best friend!  I think she will miss them.

She lets them win

She finds the same things interesting

Some puppies have been busy potting other puppies

It takes a lot of sorting out to get this potting business just right

I am sure I fitted in this yesterday?

Endless funny incidents and then that gorgeous deep floppy sleep!

Parties

I started this post yesterday with the words ‘yesterday’!!  BUT the internet went down and then today we had a major long power cut and that, quite frankly, was that!!

Image

So now we have to try again and hope that this time things will happen in the right direction!

Sunday was cold but mainly dry.  This was a good thing because my youngest grandchild was 2!  Actually she was 2 on Friday but she was happy to be 2 again here with us!!  We had birthday cake which was yummy………..

Image

We had balloons and lots of fun.  BUT the BEST fun was the puppies who were extremely pleased that Freya was 2 too!!  They joined in the fun and games with tremendous and undying enthusiasm!

Image

The garden was full of children and puppies and lots of joyful noises.

After quite a while everyone was exhausted, especially the grown ups, who dont look cute so I did not take any pictures!

Run for Shelter

Somebody keeps pouring puppies right under my feet EVERYWHERE I go!!  They are on the loose!  They can escape out of anywhere!  Some of them dig and some climb but they all see an open gate and literally pour through the opening in lightening quick time!  For creatures so small they have an impressive turn of speed already!

Image

They have found a boat!  This morning they had 2 in the boat and 4 dragging it round!!  They invent incredible games with so much vigor and enthusiasm.

Image

This afternoon I thought if I let them all pour out of their pen into the garden to have the run of the place they would get tired and we would get some peace and quiet!

Image

Not such a great idea.

The only worn out ones are the people of the house and the big dogs.  ALL of us were terrorized into fleeing and climbing for peace.  4 dogs elevated to sofas begging to be let out of the garden into the furthest recesses of the house (not far) and 2 adults sitting cross legged on the kitchen table earnestly planning the next tactical move.  Planning to get from one side of the kitchen to the other now requires the training of the secret service and military precision with diversions in place.  It takes 2 – 3 adults to make a coffee now and as for loading the washing machine, well…..

Answers on a postcard if there are any bright ideas (if we ever get to picking the mail up first that is)!

Well its not raining at least!!
